STITCHING
STITCHING POLICY
Effective Date: 02/22/2022
House of Huda offers stitching, sizing, customization and alteration services for eligible products.
By requesting stitching or customization, the customer agrees to the following terms.
Customer Measurements
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate measurements and instructions.
House of Huda may rely on the measurements submitted by the customer without independently verifying them.
The customer acknowledges that:
- Body measurements and preferred garment measurements may differ;
- Measurements may change over time;
- Previously submitted measurements may no longer be accurate;
- Fit preferences vary from person to person; and
- Incorrect, incomplete or outdated measurements may affect the final fit.
House of Huda is not responsible for fit concerns caused by inaccurate, incomplete or outdated customer-provided measurements.
Standard Sizing
When a customer selects a standard size, the garment will be stitched according to the applicable House of Huda or designer size chart.
Sizing may differ between designers, styles, fabrics and garment cuts.
Customers are responsible for reviewing the applicable size chart before ordering.
A size label does not guarantee that every garment bearing the same size will have identical measurements.
Tailoring Tolerance
Garments are cut and stitched individually.
A reasonable tailoring and measurement tolerance may occur due to:
- Manual measuring;
- Fabric movement;
- Embroidery placement;
- Seam allowances;
- Garment construction;
- Cutting methods; and
- Hand finishing.
Minor measurement variations are not ordinarily considered workmanship defects.
Fit preference, including a preference for a tighter, looser, longer or shorter fit, is not automatically considered a stitching defect.
Design and Style Requests
Customers must provide all stitching and design instructions before cutting or stitching begins.
House of Huda will make reasonable efforts to follow approved instructions. However, some requests may need to be adjusted due to:
- Available fabric quantity;
- Embroidery placement;
- Border placement;
- Fabric width;
- Garment construction;
- Modesty or lining requirements;
- Designer panel layout; and
- Structural limitations of the selected style.
House of Huda may make reasonable construction adjustments when necessary to complete the garment properly.
Designer campaign images are used as visual references and do not guarantee an identical fit, drape, length, neckline, sleeve shape or overall appearance.
Embroidery and Pattern Placement
When unstitched fabric is cut and assembled, embroidery, motifs, borders, lace and embellishments may shift from the placement shown in designer campaign images.
Exact motif alignment or pattern placement cannot always be guaranteed.
Reasonable differences caused by cutting and stitching are not ordinarily considered defects.
Some embroidered panels may require trimming, securing, lining, joining or repositioning during stitching.
Cutting and Final-Sale Status
Once fabric has been cut, stitched, altered or customized, the product cannot be restored to its original unstitched condition.
Therefore, stitched, custom-sized, customized, altered and made-to-order products are final sale and are not eligible for cancellation, return, exchange or store credit except in the case of:
- A verified substantial workmanship error attributable to House of Huda;
- An incorrect item; or
- A remedy required by applicable law.
Customer dissatisfaction with fit preference, style preference or customer-submitted measurements does not qualify as a workmanship defect.
Changes After Processing Begins
Requests to change measurements, sizing, style, neckline, sleeves, length, lining or other instructions are not effective unless House of Huda confirms the requested change in writing.
Once cutting or stitching begins:
- Changes may not be possible;
- Additional charges may apply;
- Additional processing time may be required; and
- The order may remain final sale even if the requested change cannot be completed.
Sending a text, email, voicemail or social-media message does not guarantee that a change has been accepted.
Stitching Timeframes
Stitching and customization require additional processing time.
Any estimated completion or delivery date is a good-faith estimate and is not guaranteed unless House of Huda expressly confirms a guaranteed date in writing.
Stitching delays may result from:
- Complex embroidery;
- Hand finishing;
- Measurement clarification;
- Fabric limitations;
- Tailor workload;
- Designer delays;
- Quality-control review;
- Holidays; or
- Other circumstances outside House of Huda’s reasonable control.
Customers are responsible for ordering sufficiently in advance of weddings, Eid, travel, parties and other events.
A customer-provided event date is for reference only and does not create a guaranteed delivery obligation.
Workmanship Claims
Claims involving a substantial stitching or workmanship error must be reported within 48 hours of confirmed delivery.
The customer must provide:
- The order number;
- Clear photographs of the complete garment;
- Close-up photographs of the reported issue;
- An unedited video when requested;
- The measurements originally submitted; and
- Any other information reasonably required to review the claim.
The garment must not be:
- Worn;
- Washed;
- Dry-cleaned;
- Altered;
- Repaired; or
- Taken to another tailor
before House of Huda completes its review.
Alteration or repair by another party may make the claim ineligible for review.
Available Remedies
When House of Huda confirms a substantial workmanship error attributable to House of Huda, we may offer, depending on the circumstances:
- Repair or correction;
- Alteration;
- Replacement, when available;
- Store credit; or
- Refund when another reasonable remedy is unavailable.
The customer’s preferred remedy is not guaranteed when repair or correction is reasonably available.
House of Huda may require the garment to be returned for inspection before approving any remedy.
Third-Party Alterations
House of Huda is not responsible for work performed by an independent tailor, dry cleaner, alteration service or another third party.
Any stitching, alteration, repair or adjustment performed by another party is at the customer’s own risk.
Labels
When House of Huda provides stitching, sizing or customization for original designer fabric, the finished garment may include a House of Huda size or stitching label.
This label identifies the party that completed the stitching service and does not mean that the original designer fabric has been replaced, copied or reproduced.
Garment Care
Stitched, embroidered and embellished garments should be handled carefully and professionally dry-cleaned unless otherwise stated.
House of Huda is not responsible for damage caused after delivery by:
- Washing;
- Soaking;
- Improper dry cleaning;
- Direct ironing over embroidery or embellishments;
- Snagging or pulling;
- Perfume, makeup, deodorant or chemicals;
- Improper storage;
- Third-party alterations; or
- Normal wear and tear.
